Description

You can see the expansion draft selections in the transaction. The trades I made after that were somewhat random, but represent what I'd try to accomplish - trade away a lot of the players selected, especially the veteran defensemen.

This not a team likely to make the playoffs in its first year like Vegas. It should be able to gather lots of assets though, and have enough young talent to be good in a few years. Plus, with over 15m in cap space even after signing 3 UFAs, Seattle would be able to help out all sorts of teams facing cap crunches (for a fee of course!).

The trades aren't meant to be realistic - just to show that I'd pick these guys in the expansion draft and then try to trade them away.

The free agents are ideals. Maybe they'd cost more, maybe they wouldn't want to play for an expansion team. Who knows? if they don't want to sign, I'd try to find someone else who does, or use the trades to fill those roles.
