If you truly want Tavares it would take something like Bennett and Brodie. It is just not an option for the Flames imo. We would actually be worse off trading for him. No way do we get him for a futures package and Monahan. I love Monahan but he is a 2nd line center. John Tavares is an elite number 1 center so that upgrade will cost more then a 2nd rd pick and average goalie prospect.

As an Islanders fan I'm a bit miffed that everyone thinks they can get Tavares for cheap. Yes Garth Snow is an idiot but even he won't trade Tavares. Tavares is a franchise player, like Crosby, Benn, Price. Tavares is an islander for life.
