A conservative approach.
-Why do Benson and Khaira get raises and Smith doesn't?
-I don't like our chances in the face off circle.
-If you have a kid line you should also have a reliable vet line. I don't see Galchenyuk, Wennberg and Kassian as a responsible line that you can depend on.
-Smith/Stalock as your goalie tandem? That's weaker on paper than Smith/Koskinen.

I have to think Holland improves the team more than this. If he did this I'm pretty sure he would be fired in short order.

1. Benson and Khaira's raises are pretty much token amounts. Smith got one, too (1.5 to 2.0).
2. You may be right about face-offs.
3. I can't quite get a handle on a third line. Started with Kahun/Khaira/Kassian but didn't like the possible name! (Call it "Special K" to head off trouble?) Ideally someone like Danault from the Habs as 3C. Tried to be realistic - everyone and their dog's agent is after Hyman.
4. Smith/Stalock is not weaker on paper than Smith/Koskinen. Stalock started 38 games for the Wild last season posting a .910; better that Koskinen and way cheaper. Stop gap for next season. Goalies are weird and I don't understand them.
5. Fired in short order? Nonsense. Nothing here that would warrant such a reaction. I didn't sign Tyson Barrie to a 5-year contract.
