That's a little overpaying for Coleman and also you forgot about Seattle.

Anaheim has an interesting problem with the expansion draft, both fore and aft. There are 9 forwards we'd like to protect (the top nine shown here, less Comtois who's exempt and Coleman who won't be on the team yet), plus Lundestrom and Jones. I'm inclining towards protecting our top 3 LDs and losing one of Manson or Shattenkirk. It will be interesting.

Thanks! ...yes and, Coleman has had two 20 goal seasons in NJ and had 14 in 64+ games this year, if he can contribute 18-20 G in a full year for $3.85M in a 2nd/3rd line flex role he's what I want and its short term. Gives some time to younger guys who will get better and steal ice from him and it's not an untradeable contract in that range ... for sure we'll lose someone of value to Seattle in the above scenario was thinking about that and who to expose

That was in New Jersey. He may be worth at most 2.5-3 mill when he resigns. The Devils could make anyone look like a pro scorer.
