Sabres Offseason-Ekholm, Wilson, Oduya

Created by: mikeyscav
Team: 2017-18 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 28, 2017
Published: Jan. 28, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This team would be much faster, especially on defense, and much more capable to push the pace of the game the way Bylsma wants his team playing.

I honestly have no clue if this value is on for Ekholm so suggestions would be great!

    Additional Details:
Buffalo goes for a long-term LHD option. Ekholm would be a awesome addition to this team as he is able to put up points, good puckmover, and is already playing top-4 minutes on a good team. Buffalo also receives a good versatile forward who will make the top-9 more well rounded. Buffalo sends Nashville EK9 who has been a top 5v5 scorer since December and looks to have finally learned from his off-ice stumbles. Nashville has also showed last year that they like to take on high energy, big personality players when they got Subban. Jake McCabe is a cheap defenseman in his sophomore year that is probably Buffalos second best playing defensemen this season. This will give Nashville a long term option for losing Ekholm who is controlled a little longer. They also get speedy winger Baptiste who got a taste of NHL in Buffalo this season and could shoot for a permanent spot next season

Pretty sure there are 31 teams that would love Ekholm.... His contract is a beauty....I think he costs a lot more than that in a trade.

Are you kidding me? McCabe is in his second year and has been playing great as a first pair D at 23..... That he's even being consider as part of a trade is laughable. As for the Kane, Nylander, and a 1st proposal, a legitimate top 6 forward, last years first round and this years first round seems a bit more then I would spend on a trade like this.... We have no idea what Alex is going be yet, we have to give him some time and I’m not willing to mortgage the future because people think our D needs a major overall, after we have had 2 of our top 4 D have been out about the half games we have played so far. People need to take a deep breath when it comes to the Sabres the plan for this year was to compete for a playoff spot before we lost the second most man ice time due to injury, so which place are we currently in last place if you’re a glass half empty type or only 6 points of a playoff spot if you’re an optimist.
