What are you talking about? They have a few years to FA. A 3 year bridge still has them as RFAs after 3 years

Fair enough, they're gonna get absolutely paid after the bridge though. I personally give up the late first to be able to sign them for less in the long term.

Feel bad for you guys, but don't want Vancouver to be where you guys are either.

Oh, I'm actually a Leafs fan. But how would signing those two long term be bad for the team? One thing for Okposo and Skinner, completely different thing for Petey and Hughes.

Not your proposed deals. Just the state of the Sabres today

I'm failing to see the point. I don't want that for the Canucks either.

Wings decline both. Cozens isn’t a horrible trade especially considering we are weak at C. The picks this year have lesser value as well. However, I don’t see DET giving up futures for Cozens. We’ll get a similar value player (Stevie has his guy I think, see Seider), plus another decent asset next year in a deep draft to continue the rebuild.

Why the Frans trade? The Wings don’t need cap space, they have too much they don’t know what to do with it! Plus rebuild, doesn’t matter if they wait it out and eat the contract or buyout.

Fair enough, you obviously know more than me about the Wings prospect pool than I do, I think Cozens can be a great fit on other teams. Same goes for the Nielsen deal. Just looking to take on cap dumps for picks, exchange that for whichever cap dump.

There are probably some Wings fans on here that would accept that Cozens trade or something like it. 2019 was a deeper draft too, but the Wings could have picked him at 6 instead of Seider in 2019 if they really wanted him. Frans they’ll buyout or ride out, he’s their biggest buyout candidate currently.

Right, so it's more of an opinionated trade. IMO if you were to trade Larkin relatively soon, Yzerman takes that deal right now due to Cozens having a 1C ceiling.
