Habs trade with Flames. Thought?

Description
Would the Flames be interested with a deal like this?

CGY have a good amount of puck moving D-men and Emelin could really compliment their backend with his physicality. Brodie is having a terrible year and with 3 more years signed at $4.65Mil/year it could be in their best interest to get a good return before/if he continues to decline. The incentive for CGY is MTL offering Scherbak. The additions of Ferland and De La Rose are to offset Values since i think just Emelin and Scherbak for Brodie is a little much.

MTL take a gamble on a player with a sketchy contract who, at this moment, Beaulieu is more consistent than Brodie. But Brodie does have a pedigree of being a top pairing D-man and could make a lethal combination with Shea Weber.

Let me know what you guys think!

Having Emelin would also help CGY with their rivalry matchup against the Oilers! The second Emelin goes on the ice, Lucic goes batshit crazy

A pick maybe. but Beaulieu doesn't make much sense for either side I think. Beaulieu is very similar to Brodie, except that he's really inconsistent. but he's also younger and cheaper and hasn't had a true shot on the top pairing. I would think if the Flames are open to trading Brodie, they would want something different, not more of the same.

If the Flames would do it, I would do it. Scherbak looked less than par during his call-up, although there is obviously still time for him. I don't think Brodie is over-the-hill yet, last year he showed flashes of Norris Trophy type play, and Emelin will never score 40+ points. I'd prefer a draft pick instead of Ferland, but then again he was a beast in the playoffs a couple years ago... he'll still probably end up a 13th forward.
