Kane to LA and Franson to NYR

Created by: mikeyscav
Team: 2016-17 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 29, 2017
Published: Jan. 29, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This deal kind of lets Buffalo retool some older expiring UFAs into younger pieces that will help longer term.

Expansion: Okposo, ROR, Ennis, Foligno, Girgensons, Larsson, Mersch, Ristolainen, McCabe, McNabb, Lehner
Trades
1.
BUF
  1. McNabb, Brayden
  2. Mersch, Michael
  3. 2018 4th round pick (LAK)
LAK
  1. Kane, Evander
Additional Details:
Kings and Sabres have been scouting eachother quite extensively lately and Kane to Kings seems to make sense. He's a pain in the butt on the forecheck, scoring goals at a great rate (14G in last 27GP,) and has great speed. Kings need goal scoring on their roster if they want to make a serious Cup run. They send Buffalo McNabb who will help the defensive needs, a young LW who has power and a nice shot, and a middling draft pick next year. I'm not sure what Kings cap problem is but Buffalo could probably help with Kane salary if needed
2.
BUF
  1. Pirri, Brandon
  2. 2017 5th round pick (NYR)
NYR
  1. Franson, Cody ($1,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Rangers grab a solid RHD rental for a Cup run. They move one of their many forwards (could be a guy like Puempel too) and a low draft pick to get Franson at a discounted price

McNabb back to his old team seems a little weird... if Buffalo is willing to take a bottom 4 d-man, an AHL winger, and a 4th round pick for their legitimate top 6 winger I would be surprised.
