That Monahan trade is bad for Calgary and the Nuge contract is even worse. I love Tuch, but he's not the same level of player as Monahan and if you have the Flames retaining (which makes that trade even worse), like it says they are over the cap

Oh sweet jesus, I missed that god awful Simmonds contract

Thanks Captain Negative I'll build a team of McDavid's next time!

Edit: Tuch is better than Monny and on a better deal

I actually disagree with everything you said here.

Monahan has literally had 2 seasons in his entire career worse than Tuch's best season, his rookie season and this year where he played 3/4 of the season injured (and was still putting up a pace just 7 points shy of Tuch's best); on top of that Monahan also plays the more important position. It's not like there is some huge age gap either, Monahan is only a year and a half older. So I really don't care if you disagree, you are wrong.

Imo that’s close on Jack but I’d want 2 good prospects Dube, Pelletier or Zary.

Monahan is regressing hard. It's his 3rd straight season of major surgery and both his counting and possession numbers have declined with each one. He's also a product of Johnny and is completely useless away from him.

Tuch's been driving offense from the third line his whole career. He's only just recently started playing with top-6 guys. Plus he fills a huge need as a RH RW on a team-friendly contract.

So maybe I'd refine the picks slightly to a conditional or something but he's still better.

Tkachuk, Dube, Pelletier/Zary, 1st?

That's too much. Tkachuk could easily become the face of the franchise alone. I'd have to remove Dube in that case at least.

Monahan had a poor year for his standards in 2019-20 (so did the entire top line but people like you only blame Monahan) but this year he was playing great until he was injured. Claiming he's regressing hard is a false narrative that the ill-informed cite.

Only a complete buffoon would actually believe Tuch is a better player.

Learn to read. Johnny and Lindholm had exceptional years from a team relative perspective indicating a down year in 2019-20 (exception not the norm). Monahan meanwhile peaked in 2018-19 and has been declining ever since.

All of your "facts" are opinions. Your main argument is name calling, congrats on admitting defeat.

I'd direct you to some advanced stats charts but they'd be so far over your head it'd be a waste of time.

Tkachuck "could" become the face of the franchise, however, Eichel WILL be the face of the franchise. We're talking a PPG player on the worst team in the league, give him some talent, and I bet you'll see 100 points out of Jack. Also, removing Dube means we'd need both Zary/Pellitier. Don't forget what the other teams have that Calgary doesn't is a top 10 pick...

Also, if Tkachuck is so good(which he is), why does all of Calgary want him gone?

Pelletier and Zary will be better than Dube I think and I love Dube (I customized my favourite jersey with him).

Also literally nobody wants Tkachuk gone in Calgary. These "rumours" have been fabricated from out of town low level media writers to get clicks. Flames fans just really want a 1C and Eichel is the only one available.

Most flames fans I talk to aren't even willing to trade Chucky straight up for Eichel.
