Additional Details:
Yes it's a "Garbage" package. The value comes from the fact that the Kraken won't get much from the Oilers in the expansion. This gives them okay-is players to help build out organizational depth (for minors and injuries), and a couple picks in their first draft. Wells and Niemeläinen are younger and can still develop into NHL players.
This is also beneficial for Seattle as the rumour is most GM's are going to "let them take their player" and that's it. Vegas was able to make trades through having pieces to trade, this helps them.

Also most people also forget that Neals buyout, if it happens this offseason is $1.9mil X 4 years. If it happens next offseason it is $1.9mil X 2 years. If Seattle can't sign the desired UFA's this offseason, they will have the cap to spend this year so may as well use it to get any and all assets they can.

Why would we give up one of our best prospects for a goalie that was on waivers earlier this year?

Honestly I don’t know much about him, and I saw it in a few ACGM posts.

If he’s 3/4 as good as you say, it’s probably not a realistic trade. Which is why I said I don’t really see all this happening.

What is realistic is a team picks him up for a 7th, “future considerations”, or off waivers.

Just a couple suggestions if I may.

You have 7.8 million in scratches, you have an additional 4 million on LTIR. There is no way you can play that 4th line with those players on the shelf.
When giving players like Yamamoto or Kharia contract two things to remember.
    A) you cannot offer the player less than his current contract or he becomes a UFA - Kharia must be qualified at 10% of his salary.
    B) Yamamoto has no arbitration rights so his contract is only a 10% raise or his qualifying offer. There is no contractual need to give him anymore. So around a million dollars.

SO you have about 14 million in wasted dollars.

I'd clean that up and see what else you can come up with. Good job though.

Yeah I’m not an expert in everything cap but makes sense.

I don’t see Khaira getting more than a million, so not sure how that’ll go.

I didn’t know that about Yamamoto but it’s good to know.

I did the 4th line like that, and the scratches as there are because personally I want to give the 3 players a chance at becoming NHL regulars, and if they end up down in the AHL to start the season, the scratches are there to fill in.

As for LTIR, I left Klef there as the word around the team is that he’s trending towards retirement, if he doesn’t it would change my signings. If he does, then that’s gone.

But all good info, I do these for fun while my team hits the golf course, nice to actually learn something about the way cap works.
