Thoughts Please
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JBrger18</b></div><div>Yeah after making this team I have started to think prioritizing Kuemper is a solid choice. Like you said idk if Avs will sign him back, if if/when they win the cup. I feel like knowing COL they will make a big splash in the market for a goalie this off season, will be a questionable signing or trade for them, but it will pay off like always lol. So I was thinking about this too... Do you think Soucy becomes negligible if you sign Kulak back? Having both of them would be awesome, but there might just be no point to that hey? I would love to hear what Bob Stauffer has to say on how they are going to have more cap space than we think lol.</div></div>
Ya, I think the Av’s make a push for MAP and he takes a discount to play for them, making Kuemper open.
Great thing about Soucy is he can play both sides. If the Oilers sign Kulak it wouldn’t be a terrible idea getting him though.

Striking Black Gold
Dude! Wicked job on the team explanation. Seriously, well done my friend.
As an Oilers fan I have a couple suggestions not criticism.
1) way to much for Kassian, a buyout makes more sense and saving that pick and using it on something that has real value.
2) I’d like to see a Foegele trade for something similar in return, I see a lot of trades with Foggy but nothing real coming back, a suggestion would be Soucy, Sissons or Labanc but that would involve a prospect for that later.
3) I can think of 3 goalies I’d rather have that are the same price point or cheaper & better than Varlomov. Soupy - Kuemper - Husso - Gibson - Skinner……ya, I think Skinner would be better.
Having said that, great job. I have zero issues with anything you did here.

Next Season v6 Tons of Trades
I like the thought process, Helly would be way to much for the Oilers to trade for, doesn’t matter the picks and prospects or players, WPG would want the moon and rightfully so, he’s that good. I actually believe it’s Vasilevski then Helly. WPG just had a off year.
Pains me to say that being an Oilers fan.
Also, the only thing stopping Lavoie from being a top flight prospect is his willingness to engage, his shot is NHL calibre as is his skating. He needs to get dirtier and that’s straight from Woodcroft.
So for this that are ragging on Lavoie he’s closer than people are giving him credit for.
Also Xavier Bourgault is a total non-starter for those that mentioned him. He’s the Oilers best prospect and that includes Carter Savoie and Dylan Holloway.
I think we’re you might have lost people is Kassian, he’s just not a player teams will give a lot for certainly not Brown.
I do like your Barrie to Pitt if Letang walks, I think Pitt would get very interested in Barrie then.
Lastly, I’d like to see something similar in the Foegele deal, something the Oilers need like a Soucy or Sissons and even Labanc but that’s were a pick or prospect might need to be added.
Cheers, good job.

Let’s be realistic here, that’s almost more than what Eichel was traded for Tuch - Krebs - 1st & 2nd
JP was 4th overall plus 2 more 1st round picks I’m guessing not lottery protected & you want to throw in another 1st round pick in Holloway?
Oilers walk away.
FYI, the player you want to be asking for isn’t Holloway it’s Xavier Bourgault.

Thoughts Please
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JBrger18</b></div><div>I appreciate the comments. Would like to get your thoughts on this... What would Foegele warrant in a trade where we just want to receive picks? Are you thinking he gets a third rounder?
Also in an ideal world they could play the 11 & 7 system they used for a good chunk of the year, and then that way you could roll broberg and Subban? Broberg will need to get some TOI to start seeing that NHL play.
I would only feel comfortable signing Husso at $4.5M max... If more, I would go look at someone like Kuemper with a larger sample size... TBH I think Colorado moves on from Kuemper and goes for someone like a Gibson or Bob...</div></div>
This is just me, it’s my opinion and it may not be worth much. Having said that, I have to many questions about Husso, would Oilers be buying a goalie who got hot for a year? He’s really not proven like the goalies you mentioned, Kuemper being the goalie I’d go for.
Then, as you also mentioned Gibson and even Soupy Campbell all proven.
As for Foggy, I’d like to see a Soucy trade or similar type player like Sissons or go after Labanc (might have to add a prospect) I think Foggy just needs a different team but he’s a good player certainly worth a player in return. I don’t see any prospects the Oilers have that can move into his spot next season either.

You ain’t getting Fowler & Gibson for that….
Would you essentially trade Ceci for a prospect? That’s a hard no.
Would you trade a number 1 goalie for a 1st, again that’s a hard no.

Foegele has more value on the open market than that.
No way does Bromberg play ahead of Subban
Husso is at least 5M with 10 teams going after him, 4 million doesn’t get you into the conversation.

Start with Bouchard then add Skinner, then add Puljujarvi, then add Yamamoto, then add Holloway, then add the 1st, and another first and that still might not get you in the conversation.

I’m done, you’re an idiot.
JP has 2 years of RFA left you’re guaranteed an extension even if you bridge him one year you still retain control of the player. Kefoot is a UFA after this YEAR!!! Let’s say he plays with Draisaitl and score 60 points what are the odds Oilers can afford or what guarantee he resigns? There isn’t, zero.
Where done with this ridiculous conversation, you’re wrong it’s a terrible trade now f—k off.

Yes, please explain to me a trade where
Puljujarvi has at least 9 year of contractual years for a player in his final year of his contract?
Tell me what happens if the Oilers make this trade and Kefoot walks at the end of this year and you end up with 8 more years of Puljujarvi and the Oilers are holding there dicks?
Explain the contractual obligation of Kefoot to the Oilers cause I’m confused.

Honestly though, and I’ve said I would take Kerfoot, the only was as a GM you do this trade if Kerfoot does a sign and trade. If not you can’t trade a player on hope.

Some good points but that’s not how it works in real life.
A GM doesn’t trade a player who’s young and developing for a rental unless it pushes that team over the top, the main issue is contractual years. then It’s a terrible trade for the Oilers.
