I wonder if some guys make take a 2 year deal to wait out the cap freeze. Hamilton at 2x7.5 might make sense. Limits the cap hell and let's him get one more crack at a longterm deal when the freeze ends and new TV deal money

I wonder if UFA's will be using this logic. Definitely makes sense to me. Taking short term deals still comes with risk though, especially at Hamilton's age, this might be his one chance to cash in as there's always a risk of injury on a decrease in production.
