Personally I want to trade koskinen because I see both him and smith as backups and smith will be cheaper. Although I prefer koskinen not based off of last year but over the past three years. But even then as a backup on a 2 million dollar deal around the same smith will cost. If we can trade say koskinen and a first for kuemper do it or koskinen and a 4th for holtby or something sure. Sign raanta or mrazek to a 2 year deal in free agency around 3 mill maybe. Koskinen and a third for korpisalo or merzlikins? Or dubnyck or Andersen on a 1-3 million dollar deal for one year. I don’t think the oilers find their goalie this year unless they get Kuemper or someone. My personal preference is keep koskinen unless you can do the jolt by trade I mentioned or kuemper. If not try get raanta in free agency. I don’t think smith or koskinen takes the oilers further then the second round but I don’t think koskinen is as horrible as everyone says

You have really over valued Koskinen's trade value in those suggestions. I don't think any of those team would ever take him. We will most likely buy him out of ship him out to a team with cap space like Detroit and give them some sort of asset with.

They won't keep Koskinen either as Holland has mentioned he wants to sign Smith. It would be dumb to come back next season with the same duo. A bonafide #1 is needed

Merzilkins would be the best option out there imo but there are good goalies available
