    DeSmith trade doesn't make sense, lots of acceptable back ups on the UFA market.

    Timo Meier trade confuses me too, the Sharks can't rebuild right now. Unless they have another huge move that makes that guy expendable... doesn't make sense.

    Maybe you could get a better backup in the ufa market, but desmith is cheaper and allows you to allocate more to the forward group.

    The sharks are not trying to contend right now. The stars they have are overpaid and not good anymore and they have so many holes to fill, so Timo Meier is definitely going to be available.
