The major disappointment that became this FA class was to be expected. Ladd, Backes, Brouwer, Okposo, Lucic and Nielsen all played physical games in their primes, and this type of game doesn't tend to age well for forwards

I never understood why BOS signed Backes, given that they already had Bergy and Krejci

Backes played C and RW. They needed a right winger after Eriksson's departure.
