We have to be careful not to push it too far or TBL will choose a different option like buying out Johnson. However their trade options will be very limited due to the no-trade lists of Johnson, Killorn and Palat. You can bet there will not be NJD, CBJ, BUF, etc on their trade lists. There will only be 2-3 teams likely to be able to afford to take on Johnson imo.
I definitely would not be worried if Tyler Johnson slipped away from us. What you don't want is a player who isn't contributing making 5 plus mil. And that could easily be the case. Id target Gourde personally from that team or Cirelli.
I wonder about TBL adding Foote to the deal and VAN adding say a 3rd round pick plus Highmore (50% retained) as TBL are going to need some really cheap roster players to fill gaps next season, but that may push them to a Johnson buy out.
