Koskinen contrsct was essentially the retention, and the whole Tampa thing is such a divisive issue on here

The problem with Koskinen as the retention is the following year when the Oilers have many few big contracts to sign you likely have a 5.7M likely 3rd pairing Dman. I rather have retention on both Koskinen and Keith then whats above.. unless Keith plans to retire after 1 year.

It's divisive because some people think Tyler Johnson at $5m has value, when in reality it's negative value. A small 3rd line winger(not even C) making $5m at 31 for a couple more years, who was also available to the ENTIRE league for FREE and nobody took the bait, only way Johnson is not in Tampa next year is if the lightning take a bad contract back(which they can't afford capwise), retain salary(which again can't do), give him up with higher draft picks and receive lower ones or low end prospects in return, OR by some miracle Seattle takes him for expansion...

Also, yes WAYYYYY too much for Keith, from what beat reporters and such are talking about for a Keith trade it will either be bad contract and an asset like Caleb Jones(for Seth Jones luring purposes) or Turris and no money is retained by Chicago but other draft pick assets go to Edmonton...
