    I mean that is what it would take to trade Jack within the division, let alone to a rival.

    Eichel is worth Marner and the 2nd maybe the 1st. Being in the division doesn’t get you 2 NHL ready prospects and a 1st or 2nd. Sorry. This is a massive overpayment for a guy with a bad back.

    It does though, the Sabres can get similar packages from other teams and they don't have to play Jack 4 times a year. More importantly, they dont have to explain to their fans why Jack is playing for a rival that is up the road.

    I guarantee you that the Leaf fans would be more vocal about the Leafs playing Marner, Robertson and Liljegren 4 times a year while Eichel is on the IR. There is no way this trade is happening on either side.
