Description
Kerfoot taken in expansion draft

2021-2022 Lineup:

Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Robertson-Tavares-Nylander
Foligno-Engvall-Mikeyev
Anderson-Spezza-Simmonds

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Liljegren

Campbell-Rittich
If Spezza has a great season again, I could see them bringing him back.
2022-2023 roster listed below

LA in 2022 will have close to 39 mill in cap space. Marner's an elite play maker who could be great on a line with Kopitar and Turcotte/Arvidsson. They wouldn't have gone out and gotten an Arvidsson if they were continuing a rebuild, so I think they'll be relying on their big young talent to step in and make them competitive with some supportive free agent signings. Byfield is an elite propsect, but Marner's an elite NHL player, so the risk is more on Toronto's side if Byfield doesn't pan out. Slight adjustments in salary get them under the cap. This team has few weaknesses and should compete for a cup. If Amirov isn't ready, maybe move Simmonds to the third and have Anderson on the 4th line

The Kings wouldn't trade Byfield for Eichel

They definitely wouldn't trade him Marner

I thought Holl did well this year with Muzzin, no?

He did, but we'll see how Sandin/Liljegren will progress. If they sign Parakyo, and the other free agents I added, they might not have the money for him.

How do you know Eichel's not headed to LA? The difference is Buffalo would ask for Vilardi AND Byfield, PLUS a 1st and later pick. I'm asking for Byfield, a second, and a 6th for one of the best playmakers in the game no where near his prime.

I think he fits the type of d-man Devils would like to add, just not sure they'd move those two picks for him.

I picked New Jersey at random. He'll land a high pick, he's a top 4 dman.

A 2nd or 3rd maybe...but not a 2nd and a 3rd.
D-man market was cheap last summer, will be cheap again this summer.

I don't know, Toronto traded a 1st round pick for a deadline rental in Foligno. A full year of Holl has to be worth a little more than a second. Maybe I'm wrong

Toronto was trying to win now.
Devils are trying to win later.

Also, an early 2nd and 3rd is probably more valuable than late 1st.
