Komarov is going to cost $1.875M on the taxi squad. Why would it cost more than a 4th to dump him.

4th is a stretch. Why would it cost more than two thirds though? And there’s the financial aspect of it, teams are businesses, you are also paying them to give Komarov money, regardless of his cap hit.

You don’t pay someone just under 8 million dollars to play on the third line. I’m high on Wahlstrom—think he’ll be a first liner, but you can’t put him above Landeskog in terms of a roster spot.

Komarov isn't Andrew Ladd. $3M for this season than that's the end of it. Komarov is also a good veteran In the locker room and can be a 4th line gritty forward for the team that acquires him.

I agree, and if Covid was never a thing I’d think 4th, Komarov would be good. But I think cap space is gold, every bit of it is going to cost accordingly.

That makes sense. I still feel some teams are going to need to reach the cap floor and be eager to make a move for a guy like him.

I hope so. Moving a guy like him would be huge in getting more cap space. Realistically, they could also buy out Hickey, just to have more security. If this does happen, hard to think Lou doesn’t get 3 straight. I hope so!

I think if he can move Komarov and Hickey with SEA taking Eberle, Landeskog or Tarasenko will be sniping goals on the Island.

LL set the price at ~5.5 = a 2nd when he moved ladd. Komarov is not only usefull unlike ladd, but he'll also return a mid round pick 50% retained at the deadline. Therefore a 3rd to move leo makes a lot of sense.

Yeah I understand that Leo has value and we could either get more in return or give up less in a trade for him. However, I felt that cap space is more valuable to us right now than anything we would receive in return in order to make a move for much needed and consistent scoring.

I agree here, I was doing that solely off positioning and line matchups based off position. I want Landeskog on line 1 as well
