Cup Run while also planning for the future

Created by: bigbrit93

Description
Few potential deadline moves that help both now and in the future.

Spooner + 2nd was seen as fair value for Fowler earlier this season, not quite sure how high it is now, so I threw in a C to B level prospect in Gryz.

COL gets a blue chip defensive prospect in Zboril, a solid LW prospect who should be ready for the NHL late this year/next year in DeBrusk, as well as a replacement big body at LW in Beleksey, and a big body in Hayes at RW who they hope finds his play again under a new coach.

Two of Moore, Czarnik, or Schaller will need to be given 1 year extensions to make sure our top 7 FWs can be protected.

At the expansion, the team would make a trade to see that Vegas takes K.Miller over Colin.

Colorado isn't going to take on 2 cap dumps without a big-time prospect (or specs) coming back.

I wasn't viewing Beleksey as a cap dump here. More of a replacement for COL to what Landy was while other prospects they have progress. I think if Beleskey hits his stride, he could be a good winger for COL, especially if he gets back into the gritty areas with Duchene or Mackinnon feeding him the puck.

And yes, Hayes was purely a cap dump because it pains me to see him in a Bruins jersey. he has looked a little better under Cassidy, so there's a chance (minuscule) teams might think it was just a system error making him pure garbage.

You can forget about Fowler he's not going anywhere.

I know Hayes hasn't panned out but as a third liner, with the hard work he put's in all the time is he really worth trading with one more year left after this season?

I've heard his name before any other Duck defensemen. I know he's having a phenomenal year, so they most likely wouldn't touch him until after the season (if at all).

And if Hayes could be sold high on and used as a piece for Landy (or another winger if that's the direction the Bruins go) then yes, I think it's worth getting rid of him.

And for what we'd give for Shatty, I'd rather give for a LHD. With Carlo (hopefully still here after the deadline) and McAvoy coming, the Bruins would be better of with a top-2/4 LHD to take over for Chara.
As the team I made is now, next year's d would look like this (with McAvoy joining).
Fowler-Carlo
Krug-Chiller
Chara-McAvoy

Gives McAvoy time to adjust to NHL style hockey while being paired with one of the best shut-down LHD guys there is/was.

I still cant figure out why there are so many rumors surrounding the Bruins and Avs as trading partners. Both teams seem to be after the same thing (a Top 4 Dman).

I feel like Fowler has played himself untouchable and Vatenin will be the one moved if he gets healthy soon. Also with Spooner playing more wing than center lately even on the third line, I think his value is too low
