Cogliano is obviously taking a discount but the idea is finding someone who's serviceable and a bit older willing to play at a discount. Maybe that comes from a PTO with another player, but take your pick so long as they're $750k-1m.

You realize you will have to qualify an offer to AA that factors in his 30 goal season inflating his qualifying offer worth. Just wait until he’s a free agent again.

That's kind of what I was pointing out in the trade. Instead of having to make a trade for Dermott and then a separate trade noting AA not being tendered and turning UFA. Should've been more clear I guess.

LOL you seriously have no idea what "qualifying offer" means...

His QO is $1.2m, has nothing to do with goals or performance and everything to do with the value of his expiring deal.

LA has decided that they don't even want to offer him that $1.2m and so he will become a UFA on Weds
