The Hyman contract will be heavily front loaded to the tune of around 80% paid in the first 3 years and probably around 75% in signing bonuses in the first 3 years a well. More total dollars than Edmonton is going to offer and better pay structure for him. I do not see an trade or movement clauses for hom

Hyman has agreed to a contract with the oilers. He’s not staying. He agreed to both a 7 year deal with the oilers and a 8 year deal with the oilers if they can agree on a price for a sign and trade. Which they can’t cuz they want a second round pick for the 8th year. So Hyman is going to Edmonton for 7 years not 8. And he’s not staying here

I know he has a deal there, but he cannot agree to anything before Wednesday. I think dubas might slip in a deal like this one to persuade him to stay. I have heard that Edmonton is offering 5.5x7, so 38.5mill and I am sure mostly an even contract compared to Toronto who could come in around 4.9x8, 39.2mill and frontload the contract with major signing bonuses that would be more in Hymans favor. Dubas is sneaky. He let Hyman talk to clubs so he knows where he has to be to beat them. Considering that this is Hymans last contract, overall money is more important that aav.

Oilers fan? No. All around hockey fan that keeps up with the NHL insiders that give info they hear, for example, they reported that Dubas gave permission to Holland to talk to Hyman. Hyman than went to Edmonton and had a tour and interview with Holland, than they reported that Hyman verbally agreed on terms with a 7 year contract., and also on a 8 year deal if Dubas and Holland can agree on a price for the last year.
