I think it will cost us a lot more than a second for Tarasenko

The idea was more to just move his contract - I think STL will take less value to move the entire contract. In my memory, we have never retained salary for future years on anyone. Also, SEA had a chance at him for free (really the cost was not selecting Dunn) so his value is definitely less than Vince Dunn which was projected at a late first or two seconds.

Thank you finally someone that gets it. Hes not bringing back a 1st plus a prospect plus another pick.

That's true, wouldn't be surprised if it included a prospect or later round pick... Do you think his injury is a legitimate concern moving forward?

I could see minor pieces being added for sure but a 2nd or decent prospect is the highest real value I see. His injury - I don't believe is a major concern going forward. Last playoff game, he put two in the net. I think it is more of a mental thing now - he seemed timid to use his shoulder to body players off the puck or lay a hit. It seems like he is ready to show the world that he is truly healthy now.

Tbh - I would love to keep him and let him rebuild value the first half and if he still wants out, then trade at the TDL.
