But my main issue is we have basically all the other positions to worry about except wing. And we have some cap issues. So spending three 1sts on a 7M winger feels like super misplaced priorities x2 right now.</div></div>
Definitely a fair POV. I don't disagree but we also have Vrana/Kapanen/Blais as pending UFAs after this year and Buch with only 1 year.

He's 24, locked up for 5 years at a reasonable AAV for a PPG player. Cheaper than Kyrou/Thomas but with those 2 creates a top line all in 23-24 range that can each be PPG players.

Realistically, where would our top 4 defenders waive their NTC to go to? I'd love to move them but those NTCs are a b**ch.
Parayko: apparently only EDM
Krug: Detroit, maybe Columbus
Faulk: unlikely to trade, but probably Minnesota
Leddy: Minnesota, maybe NYI.

Provided they don't win a lottery boost, what position should the Blues take with their 1st pick (#10-12)?
My view on the draft is:
1: Bedard
2-4: Fantilli/Michkov/Carlsson
5-8: Smith/Benson/Moore
Not necessarily in the order listed but in those groupings.

Obviously depends on who is there, but draft seems heavier on forwards than defenseman in that range.
Ideally: Dvorsky is available as he is a center with size to actually stay at C. Seems like we draft a lot of "centers" that end up as wingers. If not, Brayden Yager.
If Reinbacher is available, hard to turn down him as well for the D side of things.

I generally like what you're puttin' down here, but I don't want Reinhart or to give a 1st, all of which makes paying to move Scandyman unnecessary. I might still do it because something has to be done, but I'd rather find another way.</div></div>
Can I ask why you don't want Reinhart? 1 year deal for a 27 year old center who has averaged 75 points the last two seasons in Florida? Good FO% this year as well although that seems line an anomaly. Worst comes to worst, retain 50% and flip at deadline along with Vrana/Kap. Feel like Krug with his injury issues is going to need a pick attached to him to move 4 years at 6.5 AAV. Scandella doesn't necessarily need to be moved and may cost less than a 3rd.

Exploring
Not bad ideas. Feel like IF Jeff Carter waived to go to STL, he would ask to be bought out which for a 35+ contract, STL would still take his full $3.125M cap hit on 23-24. I like the idea of buying low on Roslovic, he sure has defensive lapses and cold streaks like most of STLs top 9. Worst comes to worst, he walks as a UFA. Ideally, this roster can sneak into playoffs. If not, UFA fire sale with Vrana/Kapanen/Roslovic/Blais/Bortuzzo.

Blues say yes because of the retention. Good 2C or 3C for $4M AAV for 3 years without giving up too much.

Big Cal Deal
One of those picks needs to be STL's and probably add Bolduc for them to even think about this. But also, we'd still need to move out a big salary at some point to re-sign Hanifin/Lindholm. Vrana and Kapanen's salaries won't be enough alone and we'd then need to replace them.

Even though Blues have zero top 4 RHD prospects to replace Faulk, STL says yes. Worst comes to worst, they flip a couple of the 4 1sts they'd have for a top 4 RHD or sign Severson.

Most realistic offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>Why? He still is exempt from waivers next season i'm pretty sure. Skill and development wise yeah i can see, but he hasn't necessarily been healthy enough to warrant taking a hit like that for the sake of development.</div></div>
He's 24, will be 25 beginning of next season. Skill and development needs to happen at some point. Pretty sure he only has 1-2 more seasons of RFA/arb control before he can be a UFA so we need to test him in the NHL next year. Was hoping he'd get a few games in right now and we could rotated sitting Krug/Scandella in these meaningless games. But as I said, if we can't move Krug then we can trade Perunovich in a package for someone/picks.

Vrana - Thomas - Kyrou
Neighbors - Buch - Kapanen
Saad - Schenn Blais
Torpo - Acciari - Sunny
I think that the FO likes Buch at center.
Personally though I’d rather have Scandella on the roster as opposed to Perunovich unless Krug is moved. Having both would be disastrous.</div></div>
Fine with those lines as well. As scary (defensively) as it is, Perunovich has to be an NHL player if healthy. If that means including him in a package to offload someone, so be it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Scooter81</b></div><div>Bro, they say no either way. Blues aren’t trading their first lottery pick in 15 years on another god damn winger.</div></div>
Basically, you are saying the blues would not trade a 9-12 pick for Jordan Kyrou? Keller is a PPG player at 24 locked up for the next 5 years at a reasonable salary. Odds that you hit on that 9-12 pick to be a PPG player or top 2 defenseman are slim.

why not? only long term contracts they have are Barkov, Tkachuk, Bob/Knight. Could easily see them attempting to move on from one of Bob/Knight since having $14.5M tied up in goalies isn't the wisest. I understand Verhaege/Lundell/Ekblad/Reinhart will have to be resigned in the next 2 years but still plausible to add a $6.5M LHD to a team that is lacking LHD options longterm

Moving Krug and a 2nd round pick for Mantha who only has 1 year remaining would be amazing. Don't think signing Graves helps though. I think if you are going to commit to anyone over $3-4M on the defense it HAS to be a 1a/1b LHD to pair with Colt55. Graves/Leddy/Krug/etc are good not top line pairing guys

Don't actually even want him but had to trade another (less) bad contract for one additional year in exchange. Saves STL from using more picks to move Leddy. Though I doubt Army moves him in year 1 of a 4 year deal.

You are giving up a lot but I still don't think it's enough. Kerfoot/Engvall are cap throw-ins. Might be able to flip Kerfoot for a 3rd to another contender.
Topi + 1st = ROR
Knies + 1st = Probably not enough for Buch/Barbashev. Buch is young and controlled for 2.5 seasons at $5.8M for a PPG player that is probably 2 1sts and an A prospect. Barbashev is probably a 2nd round pick.
