I HIGHLY doubt the BUF or NYR trade would be accepted by those respective teams. The Krug trade makes no sense for either side, as the Blues probably aren't going want to retain almost a 3rd of Krug's salary for multiple seasons. Were better off buying him out at that point.

I just can’t see Scandella having any value at a 2 million cap hit

“Maybe” from the Sabres imo
I’m sure his Cap number is a bit high for us
And i think we’d want a more defensive oriented guy to play on our top4

But again…. “Maybe”

Kakko isn't that good. 5th year in the league and he's done nothing. They might not accept but that offer isn't laughable

That offer is laughable why would we want an older kakko who can’t develop opposed to a 22 year old who still has time

His numbers in his first 200ish games are no different from Nichushkin. It’s not about today’s play level. As for Kapanen, he’s bad, always has been

Kakko hit 40 points once in 4 years. Every other year below 25 points. It's his 5th year and he has 4 points in 25 games. Kapanen has hit 30-40 points the last 5 seasons.

Keep Kakko, I don't really care much for him anyway but the offer is not laughable. Just because he was drafted 2nd overall does not mean 5 years later he is worth that pick. See: Yakupov and many others.

To buyout Krug after this year, $333k cap hit for 24-25 and then $2.3M cap hit for 5 years. To retain on him, $2M Cap hit for 3 years. Why drag it out 6 years when he can be off the books in 3 years? He has some value at a lower salary.

Nichushkin was being held back in Dallas to the point he left for Russia for 2 years

And Kakko playing 3rd line and PP2 isn’t being held back? Because you have said that yourself over the last few years. No different from Nichushkin.

Exactly, it’s even worse than Nichushkin.

Nichushkin was 4th line with 0 pp time

In both of the players first 4 seasons

VN-223gp
Kk-239gp

VN-3072 mins of ice time
KK-3549 mins of ice time

VN-23 goals
KK-44 goals

VN-51 assists
KK-54 assists

VN-8 PP points
KK-21 PP points

VN- 23 years old
KK- 21 years old

Now Kakko still has 2 years more to develop to get to 23 years of age. Tage Thompson didn’t break out till 24 years old and this is the case for many. Short sighted to write off a player like that
