I mean it's just not going to happen. As been discussed,,only one of boldy or Rossi are available to be traded in eichel's trade

- it wouldn't be greenway, and his cheap contract, it would be Kevin fiala

If this happens, I would expect Guerin to ask Buffalo to retain 10-20% of Eichel's salary. Otherwise the dollars don't work out well for the Wild here. He might even ask them to throw in a 2nd rounder, too.

Yea, I think the likelier route is something like Rossi, Beckman, '22 1st, Fiala. If they don't want Fiala directly, Guerin gets Seattle or someone else to broker the trade.

Kevin Fiala doesn't really make sense with the Sabres doing a full rebuild, with there core players all around 21. Only Buffalo trades without both them coming back would require giving up more assets.

Boldy, Greenway, Fiala, and a 1st won't get it done. If it did the trade would have already happened.

Side note, wouldn't it make more sense for the Wild to not trade for Eichel. They have a team entering there prime, so you need those young entry level contracts to make the cap work.

Lots of reasons for the Wild not to trade for him, but their desperate need for a bonafide 1C, the first they would ever have had and while trying to contend, outstrips those reasons. That's why they're still in this. I agree on Buffalo not wanting Fiala though - which is why I could see this being a three team trade.

I mean when you listed greenway, fiala, and boldy. No way that was happening. It would be fiala and Rossi because no team especially wild are giving up their good young Wingers, and any Winger depth they they have

I mean pretty much the hang up is
Buffalo GM continues to hide eichel's medical records
-GM of wild isn't willing to break the team for eichel

And that's why I don't think its going to work. Personally Eichel will play this year with the Sabres.

The Sabres issue is that the current GM took calls on Eichel last year when he was healthy. So his current value is based on his value last year when he was healthy, which is why they aren't moving from the value of the equivalent of four 1st round picks in the form of prospects.
