Description

I never understood the rush to sign Simmonds.
I never understood not going 7-3-1 and not protecting Kerfoot and McCann over Holl.
Nick Bonino 2 x 2mil David Kampf 2 x 1.5mil 🤷‍♂️

If one of the top 4 guys gets hurt and misses any sort of time this team will struggle hard to score. The bottom six wasn’t addressed. Kampf had 1 goal in his last 56 games. But he can take faceoff’s 😂

I mean, sh-t, I hope they are not done.

Simmons can be "sent" to the Marlies and it doesn't affect the cap. Probably the reason that he was signed for not to much for two years.
Yeah, you can certainly argue keeping McCann over Holl. But the Leafs probably felt they could not sign a competent 20 minute a night RHD for 2m.
Yep, I thought there might be better value out there than 1.5m Kempf.

It’s also not as bad as it looks.

Protecting Holl was easily the right move. Do you see the market for d-men right now? It’s expensive.

I also don’t think they are done. And I am excited if Anderson and Robertson get long looks. But let’s get real, if one of the big 4 gets injured, they are fukced

I’ll die on the hill that Dermott could have given you the same value as Holl gives Muzzin. Also, with some of the selections SEA made I could have seen Joey Anderson picked over Holl and Dermott.

Simmons can sent to the Marlies "on paper". Maybe he will coach or just play home games.

I thought Seattle did very well with their draft. They weren't sucked in selecting overpaid players. They went with fringe NHLers so they could have cap space to sign UFAs.

Certainly Holl at 2m or even Dermot at 1.5m would have been selected as they do provide good value. Anderson? He's an AHLer or the 14th guy
