That makes it almost the equivalent of 4 2nd round picks for a guy that’s scored 7 goals in the last two years, had had 3 shoulder surgeries, and is in a place with little leverage. Huge overpay. It’s an overpay as is, retention would be needed if Bellows and two seconds was the deal.

Don’t think there is a team in the nhl that would give a 2nd for Bellows but good luck with that.

I really hope Tarasenko doesn’t go to the Isles. You guys don’t deserve him with the way you bash him yet really lust for him…

I hope he doesn't go to the Islanders as well, so at least we can agree on that. The only ones lusting after him are the ones still living in 2019 before the shoulder surgeries. I know he's a fan favorite in St. Louis, I get that but you need to tone down his worth. He's not worth what he used to be 2 years ago and you need to come to terms with that.

Your Tavares/traitor avatar defines your fanbase. People in St. Louis don’t hate Pietrangelo for choosing another team/city in free agency. Tarasenko deserves better than the Isles fanbase.

I agree let another franchise over pay for a high risk target, you'll get no arguments from me as long as it's not the Islanders taking all the risks.

The Tavares situation was much. much different than the Pietrangelo situation. Tavares was constantly saying how much he loved it in New York and wanted to stay and even though the Islanders offered him the money he wanted. He still screwed them over and left the team.

The Pietrangelo situation with St.Louis was they didn't want to fork over the money he felt he was worth. That was the organizations fault not Pietrangelo's. Tavares should have handled the situation like Jones did in Columbus and told them he wanted out. At least the Islanders could have got something for him instead of nothing.
