I'm exciting for this season

There is not enough skill up front the teams bottom six is awful, mcleod and wood are the only good bottom 6 and playing Severson on the 2nd line instead of Subban is a huge mistake, the defense would be best if the lines were:

Smith - Hamilton
Graves - Subban
Siegenthaler - Severson

Hamilton should QB the #1 PP and Subban and Smith should be the D on the #2 PP

People don't realize how much better Subban is than Severson because they haven't been using Subban even close to the way he is supposed to be and always has been used before he came to NJ.

If they could improve up front more and Use those D-lines they would be pretty good.

Severson is 100% better than Subban

For some reason, and I cannot figure out why, you seem to think Severson is a really good defenseman that is going to be an elite defenseman, Severson is at most a Top 6 D on any good team, especially with the devils he should be under Hamilton and Subban, Severson has been awful the past 2 seasons where he has gotten a ton of defensive time and offensive time, Subban has been ok and shown that he still has a lot of skill playing only defensive minutes, If subban was playing second line PP time and on the second line with Graves, Graves could help them be a good defensive pairing why Subban could put up solid numbers due to actually getting offensive time, Severson might be ok if he has a much smaller role than he has been given the past 2 years, him playing on the bottom pairing with Siegenthaler would give him a chance to put up a few points and improve his defensive game. Subban and Hamilton are the 2 best D-men on the team. If they do to hamilton what they did to Subban the past 2 years hamilton would not be putting up superstar stats either

Severson is better defensively than Subban and Severson outperformed Subban in the last 2 years

Severson had 31 points in 2019-20 and 21 points in 2020-21
Subban had 18 points in 2019-20 and 19 points in 2020-21

And if you look at advanced stats, Severson is clearly better

You really overhate on Severson

Subban both seasons got way less offensive minutes than Severson and last season Subban Point per game was higher since he played less games. You really don’t understand the game that well
