- I know some of you guys might disagree but in my opinion drouin needs to go, he just doesn't fit in montreal anymore, and I highly doubt he'll get top line minutes this season.
Why is kotkaniemi important.
- kk is important because montreal needs a 2C, yes caufield is a centre, but Ducharme will put caufield a 1st line right wing.

I totally agree, you dont let a young promissing offensive center picked 3rd overall go for a low 1st.

And Drouin gotta go.

But you can keep Byron this season (LTIR until January) and buy him out next summer.

I had to trade him so that montreal could afford KK. trading Drouin alone would not be enough.

Not enough if Byron would play the full season, but it was announced he would be out until december at least. If he is put on LTIR until then and burried after, you can keep him for another playoff run.

what i meant was Drouin's cap hit was not enough to match KK's offer from carolina, So for that reason i also had to trade byron, since LTIR doesn't come to effect until the season starts.

LTIR can be used in the off-season, as written in Capfriendly's FAQ.
