Depending on how good he does, I think Kotkaniemi takes a discount. But yah, he won’t if he gets 60+ points next year.

What do you mean by discount? Do you mean less than his current deal? Doesn’t he have to get at or over $6.1M for his next offer? Or do you mean less than what he’d want ideally (7+)?

He can sign for any amount which apperently they talked about what long term would look like during the OS negotiations. Only way KK gets 6.1 is if they QO him which they won't.

He could sign for less than 6.1M if he wants to. If it’s a 1 year he has to get the 6.1M, but if it has length, he can sign for whatever they agree on. I see him not taking as much, unless he has an unreal season.
