Someone’s a hawks fan. Sorry but I don’t see DeBrincat on the top line. Nor does Marinez make it over Suter and they won’t run with 5 RD lol.

I could easily move Kane/Debrincat to the 2nd line. They'll be top 6 for sure though and they'll play together. They've played together at worlds many times already and their chemistry already exists.

I questioned the RD moving over too. I just don't see Werenski replacing McAvoy or Carlson. That was a tough one. With regards to Suter, we'll see. Last year Martinez definitely had a better year than Suter. But it was just one year.

Whatever gets USA gold I don’t really care. But I really don’t see this team without Suter in the starting lineup. He’s still a world class shutdown dman. And Pavelski is a gamer in serious competition and proved last year he is much better than the likes of JY Miller and Vincent Trocheck.

Petry's red eyes are just enough to scare away forwards

Suter has GREAT gap control. He's been a stud throughout his career. Last year was a bad year for him. Maybe he'll bounce back, but Martinez definitely had a better year last year. We'll see.

That's why he's the 1st scratch. Bring the eyes with.

I’d also consider Pacioretty over Garland. I favor a more gritty team USA not so dissimilar to 2010 where players took lesser offensive roles to commit to team defense and I don’t see guys like Garland and Carlson doing that.

Just my two cents. Regardless of what happens I really like this iteration of USA hockey, they could be a real threat for gold if they play the right way.

That's fair. I also like gritty players. The Tkachuk Bros, Trocheck, and Miller and quite physical. I just don't want to go too far one direction because there will be different types of teams to play against. BUT I do hear ya for sure. Need to be physical.

Not just physical but guys who are willing to play a team game with smaller roles. Tkachuk bros, Trocheck yes. Miller maybe but Pavelski has been nothing but clutch in big games and his puck deflecting abilities are second to none.
