He’d probably retire before accepting a trade and I wouldn’t blame him.

Why?

Why should he leave the only organization he’s ever played for? He signed his contract with a NMC and the team should honor it (will they is a different story). Dude has literally given everything he could’ve to the team for over a decade and delivered.

You do make good points but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter what his contract says and what not. Yeah, he could deny any trade but he'll really be strapping Tampa Bay. They really can't compete next year without moving Stammer.
Stammer is a very respectable person, hes won two cups, and it's not like they are moving him too a dumpster fire. I can't see a great reason that he would turn the trade down.
Its also funny that just 2 seasons ago everyone was saying that Tampa needs to move Stamkos because he doesn't deliver but not its a total different story (not saying you said it, just find it funny how two cups really makes people do a 180 on opinion.)

If that was me, I’d feel disrespected and cut all ties to the organization forever. If it’s such a business move, then I tell them to shove it and buy me out and then decide on my next move if they decided to do so. People should stop and think part of the reason why guys take less money to play there is cause he was the first one to do so and the rest fell in line after him, which is the biggest reason why they’ve been able to win.

They can definitely still compete with Stamkos. He isn't strapping the team. Instead of signing Forsberg and Kessel, you could easily keep Stamkos. And plus he has an NMC

Yeah, we've already been over the fact of his NMC.
