Puljujarvi

Not a chance over any of the current players

Jokiharju would make it over Lehtonen or Nutivaara

In what world do you choose Kakko over Puljujarvi

Kakko has never broken 25pts, Puljujarvi has and provides much better defensive output. Especially in a 4th line role like the OP has. You should take the bigger and more defensively sound player.

Your argument about points is moot. Puljujarvi only reached 25 points this season and that was playing with McDavid for the vast majority of the year. Kakko had 23 in his rookie season. 25 points isn't a benchmark for determining good players.

Feel free to compare their advanced analytics. They are very similar in a number of categories but Kakko is a bit higher in pretty much all of them.

You could easily argue that Puljujarvi would make the team over Komarov, but not over Kakko

You're right, 25pts is not a benchmark to determine a good player but the argument was that Puljujarvi can produce at an equal if not higher level than Kakko. So when you look at the defensive acumen bet on Puljujarvi over Kakko.

Pick your advanced category of choice, and he’s among the best on the Oilers. In terms of expected goals percentage, he’s second only to Connor McDavid, and just barely. By the percentage of shots that go at the opposing net the top four goes McDavid, RNH, Puljujarvi, then Draisaitl. Basically everything that’s a percentage (using not just offence but defence, too) shakes out well for him.

10/10 simply because you said acumen. I guess we can agree to disagree. I'd take Kakko over Puljujarvi for the national team
