Love how some think the Leafs get passed the first round with Spezza on the 2nd line lol. Oh wait that doesn’t even matter, they won’t make it passed anyways lol.

Seriously tho, just put Spezza on the 4th with other vets. Bunting on the first is bold but could work.

Doesn’t mean he’d play 18 minutes a night.
I don’t assume Keefe would give him every shift anyways. Kerfoot and him would rotate.

Spezza absolutely should be in the top six. His 30 points in 54 regular season games last year and 5 more in the 7 playoff games. He did all of that playing an average of 9 minutes per game, which ranked him 3rd in the regular season in points per 60 minutes at 5v5 with 3.08. Only Connor McDavid (3.57) & Brad Marchand (3.25) had more.

David Kampf is the 3C this team has been missing. After 3 games:
CF%: 60.29%
xGF%: 57.49%
Offensive zone faceoff starts: 3
Defensive zone faceoff starts: 20
Highest played forward competition (at 5v5): Stutzle, Batherson, Norris, Formention, Anderson, Dvorak, Drouin

I completely agree.

I’m just not sure his body could handle so much playing time. So Kerfoot or someone could take shifts there every now and then.

And, I absolutely love Kämpf.

I think Spezza feasts on 3rd and 4th liners but will struggle against top competition at this stage of his career. Having your bottom 6 beat up another trams bottom 6 is really good.

I see no harm in trying him in the top six. I mean **** they had Thornton play there last year. I’m not saying his got it in him to play 18-20 mins a night but give him looks with Nylander and Matthews would be amazing.
Nylander Matthews Spezza
Bunting Tavares Marner
Engvall Kampf Kase
Ritchie Semyonov Simmonds

Pls Pls Pls

Edit:
Always forget Kerfoot
Nylander Matthews Spezza
Kerfoot Tavares Marner
Bunting Kampf Kase
Ritchie Semyonov Simmonds
