I don’t know what I find more interesting about this post. The thought of Anaheim falling that far in their weak division, or selling to a division rival, or the oilers actually contending.

It is an interesting world we live in, I really like this Anaheim team right now and that's why i said i cant see this being a thing. Oilers dopnt contend this year if they dont do something this big that is for sure.

The Oilers need to wake up and realize moving Drai may be their best option. The ransom they could get for him would be outstanding while making themselves a better team. They have next to no other asset they can move to make themselves better without entering a rebuild.

Yikes I don't know about that... Drai is such an important part of this team and the contract is so good right now. Which team has the assets to acquire him while also staying in a win now mode that would motivate them to make a move?

It would likely be a trade involving several teams. But until the Oilers accept that scoring 6 goals a game to win isn’t the solution they aren’t going anywhere.

Oilers Org is stuck in the 80s this is the only way they know how to win. Makes for a fun team to watch TBH.

Fun and disappointing. I’ve been watching the leafs since I was 3 years old. That was 1982. Eventually you just get exhausted of seeing the same failure over and over. Completely hypothetical, cause I can’t see the Bruins doing it, but say the Oil ship Drai to the Bruins for Carlo, Debrusk, and a first. The Oil turn around and send Bouchard and a first to Arizona for chych. They are set on defence for quite some time with McDavid still at the helm.

i started at age 3 with oilers in 98 which is arguably the worst timeline for any organization. I will be honest I'm not really sure why people are leaf fans cause leaf players dont even win scoring races (matthews being the first right?) or anything its weird to me.

Bouch is our 1RD young and looking very promising. I would think we have enough assets to acquire Chych (if we had a competent GM) without shipping out Drai or Bouch. I think that Drai trade would be very poor return. Carlo is decent, Debrusk is a healthy scratch player and a late first wouldn't equate to a Hart, Ted lindsay, Rocket and prenial All star player.

Didnt you propose a Fox for Drai Trade? that is the type of movement that would start to make sense. Would NYR trade Fox for that package?
