Looking at the trade from the Devils perspective, I wouldn't do it. I rather have the free cap space for the offseason.

Whats your impression of Bahl so far? Is he gonna be a good player?

Devils have no interest in koskinen and oilers have no interest in Subban for Cap reasons and Bernier for injury reasons

This trade is all about gaining cap relief for Oilers. This year, Subban and Barrie are a wash, but Bernier is on LTIR. Next year, Subban becomes UFA so no longer in the books (Barrie has two additional years).

Devils get a back-up for this year, and Subban replacement for 3rd pair for following couple of years.

Just the size/skating combo, he will be a player. Just unclear what he becomes once fully developed.

He has struggled getting shots on net from the point. And there was some talk not long ago about playing him at RD when in front of the net because of his size and reach. It’s mostly finishing touches in AHL. He has already seen some NHL time.

My guess is that he becomes middle-pair, defensive LD/RD. Not expecting a ton in terms of point production.

I don’t know much about him, I don’t think he is that good but koskinen is not an improvement I feel like they need a good goalie that can be a starter so Blackwood can rehab his injury

Oilers are using him as a starter hence his poor play however if a team were to use him as a backup and give him more rest I believe that he would do well.

He hasn't played much in the NHL so I don't have a full impression on him but in the games he played he's been solid.

Good size, reach, and board play I think he turns into a top 4 shut down dman.
