Description
Do you agree with Steve Dangle's Prospect Pyramid?

This is the second year I have done this, so it's time for an update. Disclaimer, these are MY picks, NOT Steve Dangles.

For those of you who are unsure of what it is, it is simply a way of ranking prospects in tier levels rather than individual levels. In other words, each tier represents a certain potential for the prospects. Tier 1 is Superstar, meaning that the prospect will make a huge impact in the NHL (McDavid, Draisaitl, Matthews type of calibre players). Tier 2 is your solid prospects that will turn into big assets for your future, maybe potential all-stars and superstars, with a slight risk of them not panning out AKA bust. Tier 3 is more of your players who are beginning to scratch the surface at the NHL and have the sealing to make it to the big club, but they also have a very low sealing. These guys would be considered wild cards. Tier 4 is where we begin to find those players whose chances of making the big club are small, but they have the potential to do it, but it's highly unlikely they do. They will most likely be AHL superstars or KHL players. Tier 5 is the second last tier and these players are typically classified as AHL players meaning their chances of making the NHL are slim to none. Tier 6 (Everybody Else) is the last and by now you could probably finish it by saying that tier 6 is the bottom of the barrel.

Tier 1 = LW
Tier 2 = C
Tier 3 = RW
Tier 4 = Scratched List
Tier 5 = IR
Tier 6 (Everybody Else) = LTIR

*I consider prospects to be "graduated" from the rank of prospect after they turn 25. Therefore, the players on this list are 24 years old or younger.

Players left off of Prospect Pyramid:

Fabrice Herzog (27) - Aged out

Denis Malgin (24) - Has played in the system before, but TOR didn't offer a contract after his expired, so I doubt they hang on to his rights at this point seeing he's back in Switzerland playing in his home country

Joseph Woll (23) - Has already played a handful of games with Leafs this year, so I would consider him graduated from this list

Can’t see why he would not have Knies in Tier two. 🤷‍♂️

But when it comes to Leaf prospects, I trust Kyle’s judgment over Dangel.

The Leafs have a few prospects that look like solid NHLers. But the fact is they have so many iffy NHLers or certainly not difference makers as prospects.

Hes at 4 for me because he is still in the minor leagues over in Russia. Yes, he may be producing over a point per game in the MHL, but he ain't getting much action in the KHL. You also got to factor in their size and strength as well, as he lists at 5'11'', 165 lbs, which is not really ideal at the NHL level. You could make a case for Amirov being under sized too, bt he's at the KHL level now, thus is why he's in tier 2 for me. Another example is Joe Miller. He's scoring the lights out in the USHL, but he's 5'9'', 149 lbs, suuuuper undersized, and will need to bulk up extremely if he wants to play in the NHL, hence why I also have him in tier 4

I would have them higher. Alex Debrincat was a really good player would have been really high very good prospect but teams only saw a short kid now he's one of the top players in goals. They can still be very good, hockey starting to lose its physical side now the game is about skill not strength.
