Giving up Kyle Wood would be a bad, bad idea for the Coyotes. They have zero depth down the right side on defense. That trade as a whole is counterintuitive for the Coyotes. Giving up your best RD prospect and a former 1st-round pick that projects to be a pretty good forward is nonsensical for a rebuilding team, even if you're getting back a pretty good goaltender. Besides, Mike Smith is fine for the purposes of this rebuild.

Waaaaayyyy too much to give up for MAF. Merkley would be good to keep because he's a rightie, also if you're going to trade him, trade him for a younger goalie or G prospect. My Rangers have a few solid G prospects.
