2022 Offseason and 2023 extensions

Created by: Detroiter23
Team: 2023-24 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 21, 2022
Published: Jan. 21, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is based on the scenario that Detroit moves up in the lottery and get to select either Savoie or Cooley. Its also based on the romour that DeBrincat could be shopped for the right price. Its also fun to go into the future with this team. Theyre so well set up with the cap that its not even fair.
In 2024:
Bridge Raymond and Seider to 4 year deals. Would line them up for their next big contracts when Ned, Fabbri, Bert and Hague are off the books.

Resign Vrana to a 4-5y deal around the AAV of 6m

Resign Ras to a 2-4y deal at around 3m

Bridge Berggren, cant predict his dollar value rn.

Hronek is a main stay at that RHD side. A 3-4y deal at 4-5M is what I value him at

Savoie will prob get 1 year in the AHL. So his ELC would come to its end in 2026. Detroit does also posses a great scouting staff so I could deffo see Stevie trade away 1-2 big names in order to get capspace in the future. Players such as Söderblom, Niederbach, Hanas, Johansson and Cossa Will deffo become solid NHLers.

Change the 1st to top 10 protected and I might consider, but I'm not sure how I feel as a Wings fan.

With a healthy Vrana, Hague and McNabb joining that D-core + Young players improving should prevent that 1st from becoming anything och high value. Ofc got to count on DeBrincats boost to this team also.

Zadina could use a fresh start. We already have Edvinsson, Viro, Johansson many other defensive prospects. Veleno is replaced by Savoie whos better so.

I think I'd pass for Detroit. Still some of time left in the rebuild. Veleno and Zadina could pan out to be good players by then.

I honestly think Z will do better with Vrana back, especially if they improve their 2C in the offseason. I don't hate this deal though.

Yeah I feel the same, but DeBrincat is still the much better player. And I would only go for him If we lock up either Cooley, Wright or Savoie via the draft
