Martinez is a good Dman but Vegas is not dealing from a place of strength. No way they are getting Harrison and a third. Boston also can't fit his cap hit in without a contract going the other way. With all due respect, try again.

Canucks have enough wingers available to them, they'd likely prefer a pick for Schenn if he's moved, probably around a 5th or so.

Don't see any incentive there for Columbus. They'll be enough teams interested in Koorpisalo that they'll be able to get a high pick to help their rebuild probably a prospect too.

Absolutely zero chance from Toronto. You either haven't seen Kallgren play or know nothing about him. He's been incredible in his first season for the Marlies playing behind a horrid defence there. He has a strong chance of making the lineup next season for Toronto. Slim chance they're interested in moving him for anything short of an overpay that helps the roster now.

I feel like Martinez has quite a bit more value than that. Not sure why Vegas would wanna move him if they're looking to contend

I’d gladly do a 5th for Schenn instead.

I’d also gladly do Janmark/Brossoit for any goalie at $1.4M or less, or even nothing and roll with Thompson. Didn’t think Koorpisalo’s value was that high. So easy pass there.

I haven’t watched Kallgren. Just figured there appears to be a logjam there. Again easy pass then. He wouldn’t likely overtake Thompson in Vegas anyways for backup next year. Can find a cheap 3rd elsewhere to start in AHL.

Vegas needs to shed $7-8M in salary this month, hence the trading of Martinez.

Thank for feedback.

I was making this scenario based on the assumption DeBrusk is moved, I should’ve stated that. And yeah, there’s a decent chance Martinez returns next to nothing. If he is the one being sent for cap compliance, the limited teams he can realistically be dealt to won’t help his value.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Clifton who carries a million cap hit and a 3rd for Martinez. If of course Bruins clear some space. Working on a trade proposal now.
