This boeser to Minnesota by Canucks fans has been discussed to adseum and we aren't interested. Not trading a cheaper, better player and game changer with fiala for boeser

Who said I’m trading Matt Boldy for Brock Boeser?

This has been discussed a lot lately. It's mainly proposed by Canucks fans and people who look at Boeser and his Minnesota relations as a reason to trade for him. It doesn't make sense for us.

Boeser's QO in the summer will be 7,5 million, Fiala's will be 5,1. Minnesota's dead cap rises to 12 million and we can barely fit Fiala under the cap, already. We sure as hell can't fit Boeser. This is not even about which player is better - that is an entire different argument. This is just about math. We have no way of fitting Boeser under our cap, but with Fiala, we at least have a chance.

Sounds like MIN needs to trade Fiala to a team that can afford him

I don’t think this is a great trade for either team. For Minnesota because of the cap implications already mentioned (altho as an FYI, because I’ve seen many people comment on Boesers QO, just because it’s at 7.5 doesn’t mean that’s what he signs for. In fact, most reports indicate he’s probably going to sign under that for more term) but I also don’t think it’s smart to deal Boeser right now anyways because his value is at an all time low. He has shown literally every other season that he can put up more production. If they were to trade him (which I still am not convinced they are, because he’s still young), it would be smart to do it when he’s closer to his career avgs (and he is trending that way), in which case he can bring in more assets
