Wild TDL

Description
Probably a terrible idea I know, but I really think this team could use a bit more grit/size on the backend.

Russo's latest article sure makes it sound like he thinks BG doesn't want to tamper with team chemistry and the team has familiarity with Soucy, assuming he was well liked in the locker room.

Dumba seems to be struggling with injuring's and there are a lot of games left before the postseason so a bit more depth on the blueline could be needed.

I'm not saying it has to be Soucy but think he could be very useful down the stretch and in the playoffs. Also he could be afforded, with part of his salary being retained, for next year if they move on from Dumba and/or Goose.

With half retained I think Guerin would make that trade in a heartbeat. With 2 years of Soucy at 1.375M it gives you choices on keeping Goligoski and trading Dumba or even letting both go to save cap for Fiala/Kahkonen.

I could see adding depth a D being more possible for this team at the TDL. Unless I'm mistaken, in his 4 games against VGK last season he was fine on the 3rd pair.

If the Wild aren’t planning on resigning Goligoski, I think this is a great idea!

The part you guys are forgetting, is it takes two to tango. I find it hard to believe Soucy would be available.

By and large, Soucy has been easily one of Seattle's most reliable and consistent D-men this year. He's been huge for them. Why on earth would Francis move him? Do they wish they had taken Kähkönen? Possibly. But they are happy with Soucy.

He started off pretty poorly and getting healthy scratched. That being said he is playing a lot better in the last 3 months, so I totally agree that it takes two to tango and I am not sure what Francis would need to trade away Soucy. I'm not set on the price for him, more just think he would be a good depth add to the team for the playoffs.
