It depends on the view of Poile:
If he thinks our C dept is good enough, then this could be a good trade. Because the top 4 D are kept and our offense improved. The thing with Girard is, that hes our only noteworthy LD prospect. I would rather trade Carrier, but he probably has not the same upside.
If Poile doesnt feel confident in the C dept ( I dont, with Jarnkrok as 2C we are not a contender) he should trade for a 2C

yeah makes sense. I think they could target a guy like Bonino to play 2C as well. I just think overpaying for Duchene is a big risk. Maybe they target a guy like Staal or Rask from CAR with forward prospects. I chose Girard because he seems to be the most valuable so it helps avoid giving up a lot of assets and I don't see him getting a top-4 role anytime soon with that solid top-4 they have already in place.
