Best possible offseason

Description
More than ideal offseason. If I'm GMRH, I would be all in on this year acquiring Garland. Solid top six winger for Malkin to finish our his career here and even potentially a building piece beyond that.

Matheson has value. He's been incredibly good this year, but cap space is a major need in Pittsburgh. Doesn't have to be the Red Wings specifically... Just felt right.

I've always liked Miles Wood. Adds a bit of grit, decent speed, and a cheap-ish contract for Carter and ERod to work with on their line. I think its a really well-rounded line that can drive offense and play responsible defense.

I managed to create some extra cap space so if Fleury wants a reduced contract to return home, 2.5M for 3 years felt good.

Feel free to comment some counter offers, etc.

Vancouver says no, I think. I doubt they'll settle on an underperforming forward, late round first prospect, and a late second when it comes to Conor Garland. They traded away a top 10 pick and a second round pick for him. Plus, they have to deal with OEL's contract. They'll want-- and get-- more elsewhere.

My only thought is I know for sure Rutherford LOVES Kapanen and is known to go get "his guys."
I will agree the offer may not be enough, but I do think it's close. If the Pens add another 2nd or 3rd, does that sound more appealing?
Not to mention the OEL contract makes it even harder. They need to shed cap, 5M a year is quite a lot.

On one hand, I feel like VAN wants Kapanen because Rutherford/Allvin are there, but on the other, I feel like its a sideways move for them in terms of ready now players, and I dont think they want to rebuild. I think the Pens may look for another RFA and make a 1 for 1 deal. Someone like Gurianov or Olofsson come to mind.
The Detroit trade is interesting. I think Matheson has really bounced back and Detroit will need a top 4 guy. I feel like they would want to shed a little cap, so maybe the Pens take Erne back and only get a 4th or 5th. Even though he has been good, the length of that contract is still a burden to some.
Finally, that Devils trade I like a lot. Wood has missed all season, but his playstyle is something we lack. Zucker could be a guy who helps them for one year and who can be dealt at the deadline for a decent return. I feel like a 2nd is a bit much, I would maybe opt for a 3rd?

Detroit accepts, that's a fair offer for Marcus Pettersson.
