Referring to players as picks is one of the most common dopey practices around here.

Players are players. They have subjective value.
Picks are picks. They have objective value.

I would like to think that prospects / players drafted I. Their respective rounds hold their value till their ELC expires. After that it’s fair to devalue or reevaluate them. Explain how teams like AZ said they are looking for the equivalent of 3-41st round picks for Chychrun? Are they dopey for using subjective values? Seems routine to me but to each their own

Think Zach Senyshyn had 1st round pick value in 2020? Believe me, he didn’t.

Picks are objective, players are subjective. Referring to a prospect as “first round value,” is silly. For some, he might be. For others, he might not be. For example, Zach Senyshyn didn’t have first round pick value 8 seconds after he was drafted.
