Extension test

Created by: Ftksmartie
Team: 2022-23 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 1, 2022
Published: Mar. 7, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No players were added from opposing teams as there's too many variables pending deadline trades, and extensions signed before free agency day.

Monahan trades an example of a potential offer.

Guadreau open market can fetch a 9-10m 7 yr deal no problem, signing him to an 8 yr deal we could get him for an under 9m cap hit and he still secures his bag.

Gudbranson signing comes with a NTC, he's been solid on the third pairing and after bouncing around so much and being paid handsomely to do it, he'll value security and term over making slightly more on a short term.

Mangiapane's agent has stated they want a shorter term deal.

Kylington signs a 1 year show me deal keeping him RFA eligible the next season.

Mangiapane will get at least 4-5 years. Just because his agent said that months ago doesnt mean there aren't plenty of similar 4-6 year similar caliber players with 5-6M contracts

Also bring Valimaki up

Need to face the reality he’s no longer a top 6 forward, and at a 6.35m cap hit people aren’t going to be throwing out major offers for a depth forward.

Personally I would take him in Detroit, especially if it was cheap like that. A third to see if he can bounce back is fine with me. Only one more year left as well the risk isn't that high.
