Considering I feel lehkonen will warrant a borderline 1st rounder, I think this wld be an acceptable offer to take instead. Gauthier seems like a decent 4th liner with some goal scoring upside whereas the other two are throwaways. So essentially a 2nd rounder plus a B level prospect/nhler

Mind me asking why? I’m curious; wouldn’t we do better picking up on of the really talented RHS RD defenseman in 2022?

#1 2023 is a deeper and stronger draft,
#2 Lunqvist would be a huge addition to our RHS RD group, negating our need to draft a RD in the 1st round.
#3 2023 will probably be a slightly better pick than the 22 one.
With the Hertl trade sharks would essential be throwing in the towel for 2022 and to an extent 2023.
we should then be tanking for a top 3 pick as there are 3 legit Elite players in the 2023 draft.
we can then go into 2023/24 season with Merkley, Lundqist, Bordeleau, Coe ,Robins, Gushin, Weisblatt, Eklund, 2022 top 10 pick, 2023 top 5 pick, all in the NHL or close to it.
Combine them with Dahlen, Couture, Meier, Burns, Ferraro, and Karlsson, add a top 10/15 goalie and still have cap space.
this is our rebuild and this would set us up to be Cup competitive by 24/25 seasons.
