I think we should keep Zucker but its not a bad trade. I like that NSH trade mostly because of Myers. It looks very similar to the CGY trade I just made

I like Kunin and his size. Top 15 in “hits” in the whole NHL. He has one less hit than ZAR actually and is a top 6 wing.

Those are the type of players that mesh with Geno. See J.Neal, J.Iginla, Hornqvist, Hossa, Rust, even D.Perron.

Smaller, fast players don’t mesh. Like Kessel, Kappy, Zucker, C.Sheary, D.Sprong.

Geno plays “bully ball” and needs the big players that find the open spots on the ice and go to net.

why in the world would the Oilers do that we could have easily signed Simon in FA rather then trading a top prospect for him

I don’t think R.Lavoie is a top prospect. But we can disagree. A “B-“, “C+” prospect.

And Edmonton needs winger help and are up against the cap. Getting Simon, a cheap, and expiring contract as help I thought and do think he has value to Edmonton.

Lavoie is like are 5/6ish prospect so not top but still one of are better guys, and wingers is the least of are problems we need RD and a goalie like a billion times more then a 4th line winger that we can get in FA

Ya, he’s a rental. That’s how that works. Teams trade for players on expiring contracts for a play-off/Stanley cup. Every team/GM is looking for cheap expiring contract for depth and fill holes for this season.

Edmonton has been running with 7 D-men. They can’t even fill out their 4th line wingers.

the Oilers running 7D and 11F has nothing to do with that, that is just something Woodcroft likes to do and he has done it in every game he has coached in the NHL, the Oilers have Turris, Shore, Sceviour, Archie, Perlini, Malone, Kassian, Ryan, and could even call up either of Griffith or Marody all as bottom six winger options

Kassian is hurt. Foogle -Shore -Ryan is already on their 3rd line. And Benson -Turris - ??? as their 4th line.
They have Sceviour or Malone as their scratches. And Simon is an upgrade over Sceviour, Malone, Perlini, Griffen, Marody.
